IAN MCFERON

Ian started composing music on the piano at the age of four. As a teen he moved onto the guitar, momentarily seeing it as an instrument better accommodated to his growing interest in poetry and lyrical songwriting. Much of his writing is indebted to such 1960’s folk and rock greats as Bob Dylan, Donovan, The Mamas and the Papas, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and the Beatles. Contemporary influences include Tracy Chapman, Eliot Smith, Gillian Welch, Wilco, and Ryan Adams. His music is a record of personal experiences grappling with complex emotions such as love and loss, enchantment and disillusionment, joy, sorrow, nostalgia, acceptance, and exquisite wonder.

ALISA MILNER

Alisa has been performing traditional Texas Style fiddle music with her family in coffee shops, festivals, and fiddle competitions since the age of six. She has won numerous Washington State and Regional Old Time Fiddle Contests. Her influences range from swing sensations Stephane Grappelli and Vassar Clements to Texas style fiddle legends Benny Thomasson, Terry Morris, and Mark O’Connor. She would like to give special thanks to Pete Martin for his musical guidance.

TODD VANSELUS

Starting from Piano at the age of 3, Todd has played over a dozen instruments in countless bands. Deciding to concentrate on bass after college, he has weaned his talents on a variety of music including punk, funk, jazz, theater, and rock. Todd and Tracy have been laying down the grooves together for over a decade. Influences include Ray Brown, Les Claypool, Flea, Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon, and Jimmy McGriff.

MARK BATEMAN

Mark Bateman joined the band in March of 2004 after the group's previous drummer, Tracy Goodsmith, moved to New York City. As difficult as it is to join a band mid-stride, Mark took to the task with confidence and skill, innovating on those rhythm tracks originally recorded by Tracy, and composing his own unique arrangements for close to two dozen songs the band has brought to the stage since his arrival. The band could not have found a better man for the job. Not only is he naturally talented and intuitively creative, Mark has professional training as well, holding a Bachelors Degree in Music from Cornish College of the Arts, where he graduated with an emphasis on jazz drums. Versatile and dynamic with the sticks, Mark's drumming is a perfect match for Ian's eclectic writing style, spanning genres of rock, country, blues, folk, funk, Latin, and jazz, sometimes cross referencing multiple genres in the same song!
